Durak Hazelnut Sustainability Team Visited the Western Black Sea Region

Durak Hazelnut Sustainability Team, as every year, conducted field visits to hazelnut greengrocers operating in the Western Black Sea region between April 22-25.

These visits were planned to evaluate the preparation processes of sector stakeholders before the harvest season, their expectations and predictions regarding the season.

As part of the visits, one-on-one interviews were held with greengrocer operators; information was collected on the first observations regarding hazelnut harvest, quality expectations and workforce preparations. In addition, the current agricultural situation of hazelnut was examined on-site and mutual views were exchanged on the development of sustainable production practices.

In light of the information obtained from the field, our sustainability team aims to shape its work on both production and supply chain processes and strengthen communication between producers and buyers.
