November Work in Our Sample Gardens: Pit Bottom Hoeing and Animal Manure Application

As Durak Hazelnut Industry and Trade Inc., we are continuing our November maintenance work in our sample orchards to increase productivity and support the healthy development of hazelnut orchards ahead of the 2026 harvest season.

As part of this process, we have completed hoeing (digging) the bottom of the orchards. This practice aims to aerate the root zone of the orchards, increase the soil's water-holding capacity, and utilize nutrients more efficiently. This creates a more favorable soil structure for the development of young shoots.

We also implemented the application of animal manure, one of the important maintenance steps in November, in our sample orchards. Organically rich animal manure improves soil structure, increases microorganism activity, and naturally provides the essential nutrients the orchards need.

These two practices are crucial for:

Durak Hazelnut Inc. As a company, we are determined to continue to regularly maintain these practices, which serve as an example for our producers, and to support sustainable agricultural production.
