Efforts to increase productivity and support sustainable production in hazelnut orchards are continuing in a planned manner in line with the January agricultural calendar.
The practices carried out during this phase of the winter period are important for protecting soil health and effectively combating pests.
In January:
• The nutrient balance of the soil is supported with the application of barnyard manure and organic fertilizers,
• Mechanical control efforts are carried out against hazelnut pests,
• Cones formed by cone mites are collected and destroyed in a controlled manner within the orchard,
• Branches infested with pests are cut and removed from the orchard,
• Control efforts are carried out against comma scale insects.
Thanks to these practices, orchards are prepared for the new season in a healthier way, while production activities are supported in line with the principles of environmental sustainability.
