Şanlıurfa, Gaziantep and Mardin visit as part of the Each Child a World program

<br>As the Durak Fındık family, our Each Child a World Program, which is an important part of our sustainability practices and aims to provide access to decent working and living conditions for families participating in seasonal agricultural migration, especially preventing child labor in hazelnut farming since 2018, continues by expanding its scope every year.
Within the scope of the program, our field visit, which we carry out regularly every year, but which we have been taking a break since the beginning of the epidemic, in the cities where seasonal agricultural worker families live, was carried out face to face again. During our visits in Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa and Mardin provinces between 16-19 March 2022, 10 households were visited. Within the scope of the field visit, 44 children, 25 seasonal agricultural workers and 3 agricultural intermediaries were reached. While it has been observed that the children participating in the summer school program continue to school, it has been observed that some children who have just joined the program in the 2021 harvest period are at risk of dropping out and necessary precautions have been taken. It has been promising to see that the effect of our program continues, with mothers participating in our Each Child a World Program Family Education Programs sending their pre-school children to pre-school education during the 2019 harvest period, and sending their children to special education from mothers who have children with special needs.
Families of migrant seasonal agricultural workers stated that they were hesitant to set out for seasonal agricultural migration in the 2022 harvest period due to the increasing fuel prices and they thought that their earnings would not cover their expenses. Ideas were exchanged with the families of agricultural workers on what can be done within the scope of the program to solve this problem.
