As Durak Hazelnut Industry and Trade Inc., we see November 20th, World Children's Rights Day, not only as a day of awareness, but also as a reflection of our efforts throughout the year to ensure the safety, education, and healthy development of children.
Because we know that every child is a world, and we are committed to protecting the light of these worlds.
Our "Every Child is a World" Program
As part of our sustainability efforts, our "Every Child is a World" program carries out comprehensive work to protect children in hazelnut farming, eliminate risks, and support children's education.
With this program, we:
Conduct active field observations in areas where children are at risk from seasonal agricultural work,
Provide information to families about child labor,
Carry out educational and awareness programs in collaboration with local institutions.
Furthermore, as part of our long-standing social responsibility and sustainability approach, we conduct field inspections and family information visits to support children's school attendance.
We Continue to Work for Children's Future
Children's rights are a critical pillar in our RA (Rainforest Alliance) and FLA work, which we carry out in compliance with international standards. We continue to implement mechanisms that strengthen the prevention of child labor in our gardens, our supply chain, and all our stakeholders.
We recognize our responsibility, both today and tomorrow, for a future where children are healthy, safe, and accessible to education.
On the occasion of World Children's Rights Day, we emphasize once again:
Every child is precious, every child is unique, every child is a world.
