The netting system used in hazelnut cultivation is being continued and improved based on field results.

At Durak Hazelnut, we are continuing the netting application in hazelnut harvesting, which we started in 2025, in two model orchards in 2026, developing it based on the field results obtained.
In this application, nets are laid on the orchard floor appropriately before harvest, and hazelnuts that ripen and fall are collected on the nets. This reduces direct contact of the product with the soil, contributing to cleaner harvesting and preserving its quality.
The use of nets helps reduce harvesting time and labor requirements, prevent product losses during harvesting, and lower harvesting costs. The nets used in the application can be reused in subsequent harvest seasons if stored under appropriate conditions.
The results of the netting application on product quality, labor time, product loss, and harvesting costs are being monitored and recorded.
Based on the data obtained, the technical and economic suitability of the application will be evaluated; if positive results are obtained, its widespread implementation in suitable orchards will be considered.
