In the camp area, studies have been carried out by our project team to address the deficiencies of seasonal agricultural worker families and children's humane living conditions.
Our Each Child A World project, which we started as Durak Hazelnuts in 2018, was mentioned as an exemplary study on the website of Rainforest Alliance, one of the leading international certification bodies in the field of food.
Successful children identified as a result of the research carried out in the camp area were identified by the project team.
The Twin Science team and our teachers provided the children in the campgrounds with the "Twin Science Robotic Art Set" and the beginner level "Robotic Coding" training.
Families of migrant seasonal agricultural workers are provided with access to health services whenever they need it. Mobile seasonal agricultural workers who were sick in the field were moved to the nearest health institution and their medicines were supplied within the program.
With the children in the campgrounds, our Academic Advisor, Dr. Tuğba KONTAŞ AZAKLI and our Pre-School Teacher Dr. Merve TEZEL did painting workshop.
Musical activities were carried out with the children in the camp areas by our teacher Zeynep ÇAKMAK with the “ukulele” instrument.
With the children in the campgrounds, our Pre-School Teacher Dr. Social distancing games were played and fun sportive activities were carried out by Merve TEZEL and our Physical Education Teacher Süleyman KARAMAN.
In 2021, when the International Labor Organization (ILO) declared the International Year for the End of Child Labour, as every year with our Each Child a World Programme, we continue to work with our mobile program in the field to end child labor and to ensure that seasonal seasonal agricultural workers work and live in decent conditions.
Our Project Coordinator Vedat MACİT, our Academic Advisor Tuğba KONTAŞ AZAKLI, our Field Officers Serdar MACİT and Mehmet AZAKLI for our child labor liaison and traceability field supervisors, neighborhood headmen and representatives of non-governmental organizations; How is hazelnut harvested in the COVID-19 process? How can we protect seasonal migrant agricultural workers and their children from the epidemic? How to fight against natural disasters and fire? An informative meeting was held.
Our “Each Child a World Program for 2021”, which we have implemented in order to prevent child labor in hazelnut farming, started with the information meeting we held for our teachers and project employees.
As Durak Fındık field workers, a general evaluation meeting was held on 17.06.2021 in order to enter the season in a more planned and motivated way.
A new application was carried out in our sample gardens, which we put into operation in the 2021 harvest year, and root shoot fertilization was carried out.
